Of all the places that I could get a pimple the last place I want it is on my lip. Although it is most likely that a pimple on my lip is nothing more than a pimple it is embarrassing. It’s not like I can cover up my lips and I know that when people see it they are going to jump to the conclusion that it is something else. There are ways to get rid of pimples of course but it would be far better if I could prevent them in the first place.

There are actually a few things that pimple on my lip could be but the most likely is that it is simply a pimple. Pimples are caused by an infection that usually comes about because of clogged pores. They can appear anywhere but they frequently appear on the lips. The reason that pimples appear on the lips so frequently is that every time we touch our face the infection that causes the pimple spreads to our hands. Although we don’t usually get pimples on our hands it is easy for that infection to spread to other places. Anytime we eat with our hands we inevitably touch our lips with our hands. If I have an infection that causes pimples it is very easy to get a pimple on my lip in this way.

Besides trying not to touch my face the best way to avoid a pimple on my lip is to keep my face clean. In general this can be done with soap and water but then I am not particularly susceptible to pimples. For people who get pimples on regular basis stronger methods may be required. There are a number of anti-bacterial cleansers that you can use to keep your face clean and hopefully keep the pimples away. While you want to make sure that you wash your face on a regular basis you did need to make sure that you don’t go overboard. You want to make sure that you don’t get build up of oil on your face but at the same time you do need to have some oil on your face.

If I do get a pimple on my lip I usually use a topical cream to get rid of it. This will shrink the pimple and usually get rid of it in a few days. However you can just leave it alone and rely on washing your face and it will eventually go away. On the other hand if you really want to get rid of it and you are very careful you can get rid of your pimple by popping it. This has to be done carefully in order to make sure that you don’t spread the infection, the last thing that you want to do is get even more pimples. The key to not spreading the infection is to keep things sanitary, clean hands, clean face and a clean needle and you should be fine.

Move on to next type of acne, the inflammatory.  Inflammatory acne consist of two kind of acne: Papule and Pustule.

Papule, occurs when there’s a break on follicular walls, this will result white blood cells rush in and make the pore inflamed. Pustule will appear several days after white blood cells make their way to the surface of the skin. This will result, what people called zit or pimple.

Sometimes inflamed lesion can become severe when they are exploding or collapsing, they’ll inflaming the area near them. Those lesions caused by this usually called nodules or cyst. Picture below will describe about nodules and cyst.

There’s another skin’s anomaly you should know, it’s called Milia. Milia are white tiny bumps you find on your skin, they appears when oughed skin cells get trapped in small pockets on the surface of the skin.

After I wrote my first post on what pimple is, I think it’s time for me to write about types of acne. There are some types of acne, some of them you might have, it’s important to understand what kind of acne you have so you can take necessary steps to get rid of those annoying acne. I’ll write about this on two different posts, this post will discuss about Non-Inflammatory acne, next post will be talking about Inflammatory acne.

Ok, let’s go on to Non-Inflammatory acne. There are two types of acne you might already know: whiteheads and blackheads.

Whiteheads

One can experienced whitehead when a pore of your skin is completely blocked, and this will left sebum (oil), bacteria, and dead skin cells trapped. Whiteheads have a quicker life cycle that blackheads. This whiteheads may show up as tiny white spot but sometimes it can also very small that naked eyes will not spot it. So when you see that your skin is clear from acne, check again.

Blackheads

Blackheads occur when only partial pore of your skin blocked, this condition will result black spot on your skin. This condition is caused by slow draining of sebum, bacteria, and dead skin cells to surface. Blackheads takes longer time to heal, because those trapped contents need some time to drain to the surface.

These two types of acne can heal itself, cause it will release its content to surface, and when it’s done the acne will also disappear. But it also can be change into inflammatory acne form when the follicle wall rupture. This rupture can be caused by touching the acne with your dirty hands. That’s why it’s recommended not touch those acne.

Many people has problem with pimples, and as usual they want to get rid off them. But first we need answer on what are pimples? Yes, did you know what are they? Wikipedia tell us that pimple is a result of a blockage of the skin’s pore. Pimples can also described as skin lesions or inflamation of the skins. Commonly these pimples cased by clogged or infected pores. They usually come up after blackheads or whiteheads, pimples is also defined as one of various acne forms.

Move up to next question, what causes pimples? There are many causes of acne, including bacterial folliculitis, keratosis pilatis and other skin conditions. If you got problem with pimples, it is highly recommended that the pimples you have are treated immediately. Because if you they were ignored, sometimes they will leave scars on your skin. As you already know our skin consists of million tiny pores, those tiny pores are connected to oil glands. If these oil glands are blocked by dirt or other factors. The elevation of hormones is the most contributing factor to the outbreak of pimples, this usually happen during puberty or menstrual cycles in women. This situation which caused by hormone is called DHT. It overstimulates the oil gland, clogging of the pores and in the end acne will show up as the result.

To help get rid of pimples, there are some products like creams and ointments. If you wanna self treated your problem with pimples, you should do it with care. In product recommendation category I also post product that you can use to get rid of pimples. Now after you know what are pimples, you know that pimples should be handled with care or they will got worse. Consult to your dermatologist or skin specialist if you have problems that seems to get worse and worse after you treat it yourself.
